Come as you are

At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.  All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:25-30

Today's blog is inspired after I asked my Facebook friends what to write on today.  And what a good topic it is.  So often we think to know God and to be one of His children, we have to be perfect.  Yet that is not what God says.  Jesus said come to me all who labor and are heavy laden.  Not, come to me all who are perfect.  In an earlier scripture He says:

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Matthew 9:12-13

God, knows that we come broken, sick, sinners.  That is why He sent a savor!  So if you feel you have done too much wrong doing, too broken to move forward, and that God won't like what he finds, think again!  God wants you!  Just as you are!  He will fix what needs to be fixed and He will love you through it!

You might be saying, but Lesley you don't know what I did.  No, I don't but I know this, God is using me and I came broken!  I was a thief, lier, cheat, and much more.  I thought cause I had mental disorders I was not worthy.  Shoot I am an alcoholic.  I tried to commit suicide more times then not.  I came broken, with a past that is full of shame, and God said here, let Me love you back to wholeness and through My healing of you, you shall tell others and bring glory to Me.

Let God do what is best, come to Him as you are and let Him do the healing, repairing, and loving. It is worth it all the way!
