Fighting the good fight

"Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses."
1 Timothy 6:12

"For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
2 Timothy 4:6-8

Today I went to a funeral and one of the things that the preacher pointed out was that she had fought the good fight and kept her faith.  It makes me wonder if that can be said about me.

At this point in my life, I don't see it.  Sure I came back to God, but I have not been a good and faithful servant my whole life like I should have been.  I walked away when I should have stayed.

The good news though is my race is not over, there is still time.  So how does one fight the good fight?

I believe it is in telling others about God, staying in His word, doing the next right action, and putting faith and trust in God.
